What we do

Eltham Writers Group was established in October 2017. We are a friendly group whose aims are to share our writing, provide feedback, allow writers to develop, grow their craft and give support to each other in our writing ambitions. We are a diverse group with a wide range of experiences, memories and gifts which we bring to our writing. Currently we have nearly 20 writers working on short stories, novels, memoirs and plays. People bring along their writing to read and receive comments and encouragement from the rest of the group.

We meet every second Monday of the month, at 7 pm at the Tudor Barn, Well Hall Pleasaunce, Well Hall Road, where we are made most welcome.

There is no joining fee and meetings are free.

Everyone is welcome to come along.

The Eltham Writers Group is led by Joanna Sterling who also runs The Casket of Fictional Delights.

Elthamread2020

This year's Elthamread book is 'The Dragon Lady' by Louisa Treger.  Blending fact and fiction, The Dragon Lady charts the life story of Virginia Courtauld and folds it into a mixture of romance, crime and history, including themes of injustice and consequences of oppression in the 1950s Africa.

There will be a series of virtual events this year including a 'Meet the Author' zoom.  More details at  Elthamread2020
