I Remember Story Evening 2019

The ‘I Remember’ Story Evening was held at Eltham Library on the 16th October 2019. The stories, on the theme of ‘I Remember’, have been especially written by members of the Eltham Writers Group. They have taken as their inspiration this year’s ‘Elthamread’ book, ‘Bookworm: A Memoir of Childhood Reading’ by Lucy Mangan. There were stories about nuns, parties, Fiji, School Plays and much much more. Following last year’s successful evening, the Eltham Writers Group have joined forces again with the Bob Hope Theatre who performed the stories, bringing them and their characters to life for the audience.

Secret Lives Story Evening 2018

The Secret Lives Story Evening was held at Eltham Library on the 17th October 2018 inspired by the Elthamread18 book ‘Mr Loverman’ by Bernardine Evaristo. In the book Barrington Jedidiah Walker, a seventy-four-year-old man leads a double life. Members of the Eltham Writers Group took as their theme ‘Secret Lives’ and developed this idea into a collection of stories. The stories covered a whole range of secrets people keep and sometimes share. The stories were about witches, cheating lovers, unlikely heroes, postmen and much much more. The Eltham Writers Group joined forces with the Bob Hope Theatre and their actors who performed the stories, bringing them and their characters to life for the audience.
